The purpose of Title I Reading is to improve students' reading skills. We expect our students to be the best readers they can be! We also expect the students to love to read and to practice reading every day!
We are in the process of assessing each reading student individually to determine their instructional reading levels and to assess progress made this year. Shortly, we will be selecting special books for each of our students to read over the summer. We will be sending these packages of books home during the last week of school. We strongly suggest that students practice reading every day over the summer months. Practicing will help kids maintain their brand new reading skills! Be sure to keep your eyes out for these reading packages. Dedicate a place in your home to keep the summer reading books. Set a daily time for reading practice (right before bedtime is usually good). Then remind your student to practice a little each day. Last, but not least, ENJOY READING TOGETHER!
